Celebrating Independence day is an American tradition that may look a little different this year. Don’t worry! There are still plenty of ways to enjoy 4th of July weekend in the Idaho metropolitan area. While some cities are still determining if they will go ahead with firework displays, KTVB7 reports that these cities will proceed with their 4th of July shows:

  • Caldwell — Location: Brother’s Park
  • Cascade — Location: Lake Cascade

The cities above strongly urge attendees to practice social distancing measures while enjoying the shows.

Other cities have cancelled firework displays but some have found unique ways to celebrate anyway. The McCall area is celebrating with the following community events:

  • Drive-in movies
  • Drive-up concert by Jeff Crosby
  • Patriotic boat brigade
  • Light-up caravan

For those preferring to celebrate at home, firework stands are open so you can purchase fountains and sparklers. Yay! Of course, be sure to double-check that you are allowed to set of fireworks in your area, and what type of fireworks are acceptable. Use this interactive map to help locate the restrictions in your area.

In addition to fireworks and community events, everyone can still have a great time with a classic American barbecue in the backyard or at one of the countless parks, rivers and lakes in the Boise metropolitan area.

Whether you stay home, hit the park or enjoy firework displays while social distancing, you can have a great time this 4th of July. Remember to be safe while celebrating with your community!
